Suspect Indicted In Portland’s 20th Homicide

PORTLAND, Ore. — A man shot and killed near Dawson Park in North Portland has been identified and the suspect accused of the killing has been indicted.

Officers found 55-year-old Mark Johnson dead next to a vehicle on Stanton Street along the south edge of the park just after 12:00pm on March 1st.

A Multnomah County Grand Jury has indicted 49-year-old Joseph Banks on a charge of murder in the second degree.

Johnson is Portland’s 20th homicide of the year.
