Portland Police Crackdown On Illegal Street Racers

Portland police focused on Street Racers this Sunday, arresting two people and handing out twenty-two citations.

One racer lost control of his car and hit a parked car, nearly striking some pedestrians.
The driver of that car got away on foot. Police have video of that car, if you know who the driver is they would like to hear from you.

Lt. Tina Jones with the Portland Police Bureau says that illegal street racing can get you expensive tickets, and even jail time, but those aren’t the only reason not to participate.

“… most importantly, you know, we don’t want people to die on our city street.”

Raymond L. Grant, 34, was arrested and charged with Reckless Driving and Attempting to Elude an Officer. Another subject was arrested but their name has not been released.
