New Details In Deadly Officer-Involved-Shooting In Myrtle Creek

(Myrtle Creek, OR) — Oregon State Police identified a man killed in an officer-involved shooting in Myrtle Creek.

OSP says Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies chased 60-year-old Spencer Heckathorne Wednesday morning after they were called out to a domestic violence incident.

Investigators say Heckathorne rammed into a pair of deputy patrol cars before crashing into a ditch.

Heckathorne continued to fight, prompting one deputy to open fire.
