Victim Shot & Killed In SE Portland Identified

PORTLAND, Ore. — One person was shot and killed and another wounded at Southeast 112th and Powell on the night of July 8th, sparking a massive search in the neighborhood.

The man who died is identified as 21-year-old Joevon Patterson.

The suspects left the scene just after 7:00pm.  They were located about 8 blocks away and ran from police.

Believing the suspects were armed, officers set up a containment zone around 120th and Powell.  Residents were told to stay inside.  More than five hours later, multiple subjects were detained early Saturday morning.  Police have not said if any of them are facing charges.
