29 Fewer Oregonians Hospitalized With COVID; New Weekly Report Shows Decreases

PORTLAND, Ore. – 776 Oregonians are hospitalized Wednesday with COVID-19.

That’s 29 fewer people than Tuesday.

145 of those patients are in the ICU.

The Oregon Health Authority also reports 1,728 new cases and 23 more virus-related deaths.

Oregon’s 6,395th COVID-19-related death is a 59-year-old man from Linn County who tested positive Jan. 1 and died Feb. 10 at Salem Hospital. Presence of underlying conditions is being confirmed.

Oregon’s 6,396th COVID-19-related death is an 85-year-old man from Marion County who tested positive Feb. 10 and died Feb. 13 at his residence. He had underlying conditions.

NEW WEEKLY REPORT SHOWS DECREASES

The Oregon Health Authority’s weekly COVID-19 report released Wednesday shows decreases in cases, hospitalizations, and deaths.

Between February 7th and February 13th, cases were down 40%, hospitalizations dropped 18% and deaths declined from 144 to 129.

Oregon’s percentage of positive tests dropped to about 13 percent.
