Yamhill County Commissioner Surviving Recall Vote

McMINNVILLE, Ore. — It appears that Lindsay Berschauer will keep her job as Chair of the Yamhill County Board of Commissioners.

As of Tuesday night, the effort to recall her is failing by over 1,500 votes.  Ballots post-marked by March 22nd will be counted for seven days and the final results will be certified 21 days after the election.

The group Save Yamhill County spearheaded the effort.  They accuse Berschauer of being self-serving, only caring about donors and failing to represent the needs of the people wo live in the community.  Over 7,600 signatures were gathered to put a vote before the people.

Berschauer was elected to the Board of Commissioners in May 2020.

It’s the third time this year that an elected official in Yamhill County has survived a recall effort.  A vote in January failed to recall two members of the Newberg School Board.
