They’re Here to Help When Disaster Strikes

There is a group based in Oregon that wants you to know they have your back when disaster strikes. The Cascade Relief Team is based in Otis. They formed in 2020 and Marc Brooks, the executive director of the non-profit, says volunteers come to help when fire, floods, earthquakes and other weather based disasters and natural emergencies. The group jumped into action during the historic, devastating Echo Mountain Fire in September 2020 near Lincoln City. They helped clean up and rebuild after the Salmon River Mobile Home Park was burned.

They are always looking for more volunteers! Marc Brooks is the executive Director for Cascade Relief, he says one thing they are constantly on the look out for is people willing to drive trucks and haul things into and out of burn areas.
