Six Siegfried & Roy Tigers Have A New Lifetime Home In Oregon.
Scotts Mills, Ore. — Six Siegfried & Roy tigers have found a new permanent home at the WildCat Ridge Sanctuary in Oregon. The 80-acre facility will provide the big cats with a habitat that closely resembles a natural, wild environment. The tigers were previously housed at Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden at The Mirage, which closed in 2022.
The Sarmoti Foundation, responsible for the tigers’ welfare, conducted an extensive search process and selected WildCat Ridge Sanctuary, along with In-Sync Exotics in Wylie, Texas, as the two sanctuaries to provide lifetime care for the big cats. The decision was based on the sanctuaries’ experienced animal care teams, excellent facilities, and expertise in long-term care for exotic cats.
Cheryl Tuller, CEO and co-founder of WildCat Ridge Sanctuary, expressed excitement about welcoming the tigers to their animal family. She emphasized the sanctuary’s commitment to providing a safe, peaceful, and nurturing environment for every cat under their care.
The tigers arrived at the sanctuary in early July and have already acclimated to their new habitats. Tuller described them as curious, playful, and seemingly at home in their new surroundings.
WildCat Ridge Sanctuary is recognized as a true sanctuary, where the cats have ample space to roam, receive a diet suitable for their species, and are never bred, sold, or exhibited. The sanctuary holds accreditation and verification from the Big Cat Sanctuary Alliance, the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries, and Tigers in America. It is important to note that WildCat Ridge Sanctuary is not open to the public.
The six Las Vegas tigers will join a diverse population of approximately 80 other wildcats, including lions, cheetahs, caracals, bobcats, servals, hybrid cats, domestic cats, and various rescued farm animals that call WildCat Ridge home.
