Ever notice that the tomatoes you buy from the grocery store just aren’t as good as what you can grow in your own backyard? It’s not a new thing, and scientists have long been trying to figure out how to get you the perfect tomato. We talked to a man who’s dedicated his career to studying tomatoes: Emeritus Professor Harry Klee at the University of Florida has authored a study called The genetics of fruit flavor preferences.
