Metro-Managed Facilities To Change COVID-19 Policies Saturday

PORTLAND, Ore. – Metro-managed facilities will have new COVID-19 guidelines this weekend.

Starting on Saturday, the Oregon Zoo will no longer require masks.

As for the Oregon Convection Center, Portland Expo Center, and Portland 5 Centers for the Arts, each individual vendor will make the call if masks and proof of vaccination or a negative test will be required to attend an event.

“We are working with our performers and show operators to make sure we meet their needs for safety,” said Steve Faulstick, general manager of Metro’s visitor venues. “As we continue to watch COVID-19 rates fall in Oregon, we’re hopeful that we can maintain this flexibility while still protecting public health.”

Metro says it will continue to follow the guidance of public health officials.
