Body Recovered Of Man Who Disappeared While Swimming In Sandy River

TROUTDALE, Ore. — The body of a man who disappeared while swimming in the Sandy River near Dabney State Park last week was recovered on Saturday afternoon.

21 year-old Jose Pascual of Portland was with a friend when he went underwater and did not come back up.

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office looked for any sign of Pascual in zero visibility due to significant glacial runoff from Mount Hood.  The conditions prevented divers from entering the water.

Officials urge those recreating on or near the water this summer to wear a life jacket.
