Four Alarm Fire In North Portland

Portland, Ore. — Portland Fire and Rescue (PF&R) is currently responding to a major commercial fire in the Humboldt neighborhood. Reports indicate a column of black smoke and large flames are visible in the area.

The agency alerted the public to the fire near North Killingsworth Court and North Albina Avenue via a post on X. North Albina Avenue is closed just south of North Killingsworth Court.

PF&R says they got the call from RPS Events or Royce’s Prop Shop at around 6:30 this morning. The fire is affecting a one-story concrete tilt-up structure with heavy dark smoke emanating from behind a roll-up door on the Killingsworth side of the building. Moments later, smoke was observed pushing out from another location within the building, prompting concerns about the fire’s potential spread. PF&R has described the building as an “open-style warehouse.”

At just after 7 a.m., PF&R expressed concerns about the fuel load and products of combustion contributing to the escalation of the fire. Additionally, the agency noted “exposure concerns” regarding surrounding structures. At last count, 35 units are on scene.
