Portland Metro Area’s Unemployment Rate Drops

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland metro area’s unemployment rate dropped from 4.9 percent in August to 4.7 percent in September.

That’s thanks to employers adding about 400 jobs.

Since May 2020, the area has regained about 69 percent of the jobs lost at the start of the pandemic.
