Drivers Needed to Get Cancer Patients to the Doctor

365 cases of cancer are diagnosed per every 100 thousand people every year in Oregon.  Road to Recovery is a program by the American Cancer Society.   They recruit and train volunteers who can help people get to the medical appointments they need to battle the disease. We talked to Courtney Clark from the American Cancer Society and Julie Montás, a volunteer driver.  Listen here:

 

There’s a big shortage of drivers. Only about 45% of the calls for rides are being filled in Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties. If you can help sign up here.
