Woman Shoots Burglary Suspect

SEATTLE (AP) – A burglary suspect is in serious condition after a homeowner shot him in the shoulder from the roof of her house.

KOMO-TV reports the shooting happened before 1 a.m. Thursday. The woman called 911 to report she had shot an armed man as he tried to break into her home.

Police found the 41-year-old suspect behind the home with a gunshot wound in his shoulder.

He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. Police also took another man into custody after they found him running from the scene. They are trying whether he was connected to the burglary.

Police also found bullet holes in the house, which they believe were the suspect’s gunfire. A handgun was found near him.

The woman was released after being interviewed by officers.
