Wind Advisory For Portland Metro Expires at 3pm

PORTLAND, Ore. — A wind advisory for the Portland metro area on Thursday expires at 3pm.

The advisory went into effect at 9am and winds picked up shortly there after.

The winds brought down trees and knocked out power to a few thousand homes and business.  Experts advise people to secure objects that could fly around.

The National Weather Service reports a wind gust of 48 mph in Southwest Portland.

November is normally the wettest month of the year.  A series of storms packing a lot of rain are lined up along the Oregon Coast.  Those weather fronts might drop us as much as 2.5″ of rain by Sunday night.
