Willamette National Forest Already In The Mood for Christmas

Willamette National Forest, Or. – A beauty contest is underway this week in the Willamette National Forest. The head of the U.S. Capitol Grounds and Arboretum is here to select a Christmas tree for the U.S. Capitol.

Jim Kaufmann says he is looking at five finalists which include a grand fire, nobles and douglas firs. He says the tree needs to be 70 feet tall and 30 feet wide and be able to be put on a tractor trailer for a trip back to Washington DC.
He will decide which tree to pick later this week.
