Portland, Or. –  The Oregon Convention Center has 16,000 used chairs up for grabs as part of its multi million dollar remodel and renovation. Ryan Harvey, the center’s sustainability manager says more than 100 non profits and community partners have expressed interest. He says the Tillamook County Fairgrounds has requested a thousand used chairs. The Creswell School District has asked for 700.

Harvey says the timing could be tricky. They’ll ask the groups getting the chairs to pick them up in late August. He says the Convention Center has been told the new chairs will arrive sometime between mid August and mid October; 21 tractor trailer truck loads of them.
