Water Emergency In Yamhill

YAMHILL, Ore–Water use did drop since the city put restrictions in place last week, but not enough.  More restrictions were set in place last night . Here’s what people won’t be able to do, water the lawn shrubs flowers or other plants crops. No washing the car, sidewalks or buildings either. The News Register reports Users in 10 small water districts are affected. Turner Creek is the primary water source. if the creek drops to 250 gallons per minute. The city will have to truck in water to drink shower and cook.

The restrictions apply equally to city residents and users who live in 10 small water districts near Yamhill. The new restrictions  took place at midnight last night.  Fire Chief Brian Jensen who is also the Director of Yamhill’s Emergency Operations Center  anticipates the creek will continue to drop.
