VFW Honors Washougal Teacher

Listen here:

Alice Yang never imagined she’d be teaching children as her career.  She got a degree in architecture, but then had her daughter and decided to do something that allowed her to spend more time with her, so she opened a daycare.   Her daycare was basically a classroom.  A couple of the parents happened to be teachers.  They convinced her she was a natural at the job, so Yang got her teaching credential.  She now teaches art at Cape Horn-Skye Elementary and Canyon Creek Middle School in Washougal, and the VFW Post 4278 has honored her as a Smart/Maher Teacher of the Year.
