Vancouver Woman Killed in Motorcycle Crash

VANCOUVER, Wash. — A woman was killed when she hit a curb on her motorcycle, lost control and became airborne, striking a tree in the median on Northeast Ward Road just north of 76th Street around 7:40 on Thursday night.

The victim is identified as 52-year-old Elizabeth Dunlap of Vancouver.

Investigators she was riding her motorcycle with a partner.  A witness reports the motorcyclists passed him at a high rate of speed just moments before the collision.  Investigators say that excessive speed is a contributing factor.  The posted speed limit is 45 mph.

A passerby gave CPR to Dunlap, but her injuries were far too severe.  The other rider had to lay his motorcycle down to avoid hitting her.
