Valentine’s Day Food that’s NOT a Box of Chocolates

Bunk Sandwiches in Tigard and Portland has teamed up with King’s Hawaiian rolls and has a unique twist on a Valentine’s Day meal: A New Orleans style Shrimp Remoulade on a toasted King’s Hawaiian sub roll with sweet bread and butter pickles. It’s called Be’Wiched By You and has a Valentine’s Day message on it.

We didn’t just want to tell you about it without trying it. KXL’s afternoon team, Jim, Zach and Tim volunteered to eat one, along with Danny Dwyer from our sister station 98.7 the BULL.

The consensus was: they loved it!  Bunk’s has a location on SE Water Ave in Portland and at Bunk Beerhall at Bridgeport in Tigard.  There are other items on the menu other than shrimp, including their very popular Cubano sandwich.

If you’re not into savory sandwiches with a heart felt message, there are lots of heart shaped cookies, cakes and pizzas available, and hopefully you’ve already put in an order because Valentine’s Day is Monday!
