UPDATE: Murder Suspect Jose Caraballo Arrested in Southern Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Police Homicide Unit detectives were notified that on December 23, 2022 at about 2:00p.m. Central Point Police Department officers arrested Caraballo on his warrant for Murder in the Second Degree (Domestic Violence). He was booked into the Jackson County Jail. He will be transferred to Multnomah County at a later time.

Police are searching across the country for a man suspecting of killing a young woman found dead in Powell Butte Nature Park.   Jennifer Keller is grieving her sister, 27 year old Kathryn Mulbach, telling our news partner KGW, “She loved her children so much.   She was funny.”

Mulbach’s body was discovered in the nature park on December 9th.

A nationwide manhunt is underway for Mulbach’s 43 year old  boyfriend, Jose Caraballo, he faces second degree murder charges, related to domestic violence.    Keller is pleading to him in this message: “We want you to turn yourself in.”

Caraballo faces a second degree murder charge.  Police believe he’s left the Portland area by now. Keller says there were signs that the relationship was not healthy after they moved to Oregon from California in 2020.
