Ukrainian Fest, Rodeo, Farm Work, and Oktoberfest!

There are several big events happening around the Portland Metro area this weekend.
The first of many Oktoberfest celebrations is Saturday from 1-6 in the Bethany Village neighborhood. There will be music, carnival rides, vendors, kids’ activities, and of course beer at Bethany Village Centre Plaza, 4720 NW Bethany Blvd. in Portland. FREE admission! It’s at Bethany Village Centre Plaza, 4720 NW Bethany Blvd. in Portland. Admission is free!


Ridgefield Oktoberfest is also Saturday from 3-10 p.m. Lots of music and entertainment, a corn hole tournament, costume contest, scavenger hunt, and wiener dog races. General admission is $17.50 for adults and includes one drink token. Kids 10 and under attend for free. The event takes place at Overlook Park and throughout Downtown Ridgefield.
The Belmont Street Fair is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In its 27th year, the event takes over six blocks of Southeast Belmont Street from Southeast 31st and SE Cesar Chavez Blvd. Lining the street are a large variety of food and retail vendors, a beer garden, a kid’s zone, performers, and activities for all ages.
It’s also rodeo weekend at the Washington State Fair in Pullayup, WA this weekend Country music’s Joe Nichols is performing after the rodeo.
If you are in the mood to roll up your sleeves and help, Zenger Farm could use some help. On Saturday they’re pairing up with Tito’s Handmade Vodka to do some maintenance and winter prep at the 24-acre nonprofit farm in SE Portland.
Spokeswoman Colleen Dixon says their mission is to educate people on how to grow their own food. They also provide garden space for people to do that. She says they have some projects they need help with.
