U.S. Postal Service Says Carrier Attacked And Robbed In Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. – A U.S. Postal Service carrier was allegedly attacked and robbed in Portland.

Inspector Adam Sale says the carrier was working in the area of North Willamette Boulevard and North Gay Avenue around 6:30 p.m. on November 30th when someone suddenly shoved and pepper sprayed him, stole mail, and ran away, “so the carrier started to follow the person, who pepper sprayed him a second time. A local citizen saw what happened and also chased the person and got pepper sprayed…the carrier was ultimately not seriously injured.”

A $5,000 reward is offered for any information that leads to an arrest.
