TX Heat Sends Us Dogs

It’s so hot in Texas, animals breed year ’round…. and volunteers who work with strays say folks don’t spay and neuter enough to manage the litters. So, they’re on their way here to our region.

You can take a dog home yourself, or volunteer to help with the process over the next few days.
Cyndi Lombardi volunteers with Mutts and Meows Rescue, based in Houston, TX. Lombardi says our region is a perfect partner and families have already registered to adopt many of the 50 dogs that arrive on Thursday.

You’ll find the dogs at Petsmart in Beaverton on Thursday and Friday; then Hillsboro’s Petsmart on Saturday and Sunday.

If you want to volunteer, you don’t need any experience. Just dress comfortably and be ready to love on some dogs.
