Two Washington County Sheriff Deputies Shot Near Hagg Lake

Washington County, Ore. — Just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday, the Washington County Sheriff’s office tweeted they were responding to an officer-involved shooting near Hagg Lake and two deputies had been shot.

The area of the shooting was quickly shut down and other officers converged on the suspect who was eventually captured.

Two LifeFlight helicopters were called to the scene and both deputies were transported to the hospital via helicopter.

The Deputies involved in this afternoon’s incident near Hagg Lake are receiving medical care at area hospitals. One of the Deputies sustained non-life threatening injuries. The other Deputy has serious injuries and is getting excellent medical care with a good prognosis.

The area so Hagg Lake near SW Scoggins Valley Road is expected to be closed for several hours.
