Two Arrested In Damascus After 9 Hour Standoff

DAMASCUS, Ore. — A man kept law enforcement at bay for several hours on Sunday night when they showed up to arrest him on a warrant for assault.

Clackamas County Sheriff’s deputies tried to arrest 59-year old John Redenbo late in the afternoon before he barricaded himself inside a home on Old Barn Lane in Damascus.

Sergeant Marcus Mendoza tells KXL when Redenbo refused to come out peacefully, the SWAT team and negotiators responded.  “Trying to get him to give up and come out peacefully, which, we used our negotiators to make contact with him.”

Negotiators tried for hours to get him to surrender and used tear gas.

Early Monday morning, Redenbo and a woman inside the home with him surrendered.  He faces possible weapons charges as well.

29-year-old Sade Hollis was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear on an identity theft charge in Washington County.
