Taxpayers are footing the bill for electric vehicle (EV) chargers that are not only absurdly expensive but also shockingly inefficient. In Tumwater, government officials are installing solar-powered EV chargers. These chargers cost five times more than traditional grid-connected chargers while generating far less electricity.

What’s the point? Todd Myers, Environmental Director at the Washington Policy Center, reveals the folly of this government spending spree. These solar chargers represent wasteful initiatives disguised as climate change solutions.

While supporters may claim they’re battling climate change, these chargers do little to reduce CO2 emissions. This misallocation of taxpayer dollars primarily benefits green energy advocates, leaving citizens to wonder where their hard-earned money goes.

Additionally, these chargers occupy parks and public spaces, wasting valuable land and resources for projects that yield minimal results.

If cities continue prioritizing flashy but ineffective solar-powered chargers over practical solutions, taxpayers will bear the cost of this foolish spending.

Don’t let your tax dollars go to waste on this climate change mirage! Tune in to Lars Larson’s discussion with Todd Myers to learn more about this outrageous example of government overreach.
