Portland, Oregon – Update: The suspect in yesterday’s fatal hit-and-run crash has been identified as 20-year-old Antonio Trayvontae Montgomery. He was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Manslaughter in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, four counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Burglary in the First Degree, Reckless Driving, three counts of Failure to Perform Duties of a Driver (Hit and Run – Property) and two counts of Failure to Perform Duties of a Driver (Hit and Run – Injury).

A deadly hit-and-run crash shuts down a stretch of Southeast Powell Boulevard for more than five hours. Witnesses tell News Partner KGW a car was speeding westbound on Powell Boulevard Monday afternoon, moments later there was crash involving at least six vehicles at Southeast 148th. Police say one woman died and another person was badly injured. Dale Heasley lives about a mile away. He says when a stranger tried to get inside his home he alerted officers. It’s believed that man is the suspect connected to the deadly hit and run. So far, no names have been released.

The suspect involved in this fatal hit-and-run traffic crash has been located and taken into custody. The suspect will be identified after he is booked into the Multnomah County jail.

The Major Crash Team (MCT) is responding to the area of Southeast 148th Avenue and Southeast Powell Boulevard to assist in a fatal hit-and-run traffic crash investigation. All lanes of Southeast Powell Boulevard are closed between Southeast 147th Avenue and Southeast 150th Avenue and all lanes of Southeast 148th Avenue are closed between Southeast Woodward Street and Southeast Rhine Street.
