State Of Emergency In Portland Extended Through Weekend

PORTLAND, Ore. – Mayor Ted Wheeler Friday extended the state of emergency in Portland until noon on Monday.

The declaration was first issued just before the verdict in Derek Chauvin’s trial.

It opens resources for the city to handle protests that become violent.

It also places the National Guard and Oregon State Police on standby.
