SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) – A man accused of killing his father and two pedestrians in 2015 has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life in the care of the Oregon Health Authority Psychiatric Security Review Board.

The Register Guard reports that 34-year-old Michael Jefferson Bryant was found guilty except for insanity Friday by Lane County Circuit Court Judge Ilisa Rooke-Ley for three counts of aggravated murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of first-degree assault, aggravated first-degree animal abuse, first-degree arson, and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.

Bryant suffers from schizophrenia, according to court records.

The crime spree occurred Nov. 15, 2015, when Bryant killed his father, assaulted his mother, set fire to the family home, stole the family car and then intentionally ran down three pedestrians, killing two.
