So Much to See and Do Around Portland This Weekend!

Another action packed weekend in the Northwest! There are a lot of things do, so many that you might have a hard time choosing.

There’s the 2022 Cathedral Park Jazz Festival. It’s a free three-day event at the St Johns Bridge.  The Paseo Festival is a free community event featuring creative artists in Portland all three days in the South Park Blocks.  The Chalk Art Festival is happening both Saturday and Sunday all day in downtown Hillsboro.  The US Air Guitar Championships are happening Saturday. These are the finals and the winner will represent the USA in Finland. This is at Dante’s on W. Burnside in Portland Saturday night at 8pm. Saturday and Sunday the Kaiser Permanente Seattle to Portland Challenge is on! Cyclists will be biking the 206 mile route between the two cities. It begins at 5am Saturday in Seattle.  Also this weekend is the 69th annual Sherwood Robin Hood Festival It’s free, and covers several blocks of Old Town Sherwood near Sherwood City Hall.

The Cascade Head Biosphere Reserve, Oregon’s only remaining Biosphere Reserve, is hosting the second FREE annual ‘Art on the Beach’ event in Lincoln City this weekend. The Port of Coquille River. The port has organized a $10,000 bass derby on July 16-17, with a goal of removing as many predatory bass from the Coquille River system as possible. Port commissioner Fred Fry says they’re very worried about the salmon run in the river.

There are some events for foodies too: The Filipino Street Food Event is today 11am to 6pm and Saturday also from 11 to 6 at Fork and Spoon Food House on NE Sandy Blvd. If you love skewered meats –this is for you.  There’s no admission charge.

The Tea Fest PDX is all day Saturday. It’s a festival celebrating the art of growing, making, and serving tea, including workshops, tastings, classes, and more. Tickets are 25 dollars at Lewis and Clark College’s Estate Gardens

Wellspent Market is hosting another parking lot party, this time focusing on vendors based in the heart of Oregon wine country. ForeLand will be pouring beer, Alumbra Cellars will be selling wine, and Mac Market Kitchen will be grilling pork belly and squid skewers for visitors. Free admission at the event on NE Couch Street on Saturday

Fuji to Hood is Noon to 9 p.m. Saturday. It’s a Japanese-Portland beer festival turned block party outside Culmination Brewing. A number of top Oregon breweries have collaborated with Japanese brewers for limited-edition beers.  Tickets start at 30 bucks at the brewery on NE Oregon Street.
