Should We Use All Tariffs In Place Of Income Tax?
Let’s get one thing straight: the 16th Amendment is one of the biggest blunders in American history. When it passed in 1913, it opened the floodgates to federal income tax, dragging the hardworking American public into a quagmire of endless taxation. Before that, our government relied on tariffs and land sales to fund itself, keeping it lean and mean.
Fast forward to last week, when former President Trump casually dropped the idea of eliminating the income tax altogether while speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience. That’s right! He suggested we could replace it with higher tariffs.
Are we ready to rethink our tax system? Are we bold enough to challenge the status quo? Because if we don’t, we’ll be stuck in this endless cycle of high taxes and bloated government.
