Portland, Oregon – What happened to Cody Denney? That’s what family, friends and Portland police are trying to find out. Cody is fighting for his life right now, in a hospital in a medially induced coma, in critical condition with a severe brain injury. He was found unconscious Friday morning at SE 92nd and Knapp, near the Springwater Corridor Trail. Love ones think he was robbed, beaten, and left for dead. Cody was in such bad shape, police had trouble even identifying him at first. They asked the public for help, family saw it, and were able to identify Cody. Friends tell KGW, Cody left a friend’s house near 92nd and Powell. He was found hours later, unconscious, about two miles away. His mom has started a GO-FUND-ME page to help pay for his medical bills.

Here’s what she says on the Go Fund Me Page:

Our son Cody was mugged and left in Lents park, Oregon.  He was found unresponsive and no one knows for how long. His wallet was gone and took nearly 2 days to identify him.  He has a major brain bleed and the brain is swelling dangerously. He is currently in a medically induced coma to give his body and brain time to heal.  The prognosis is very poor at this time. This money will go towards a reward to find the culprit(s) that did this to him and to assist the family with travel expenses as he has family in Florida and Oregon, the remainder will go towards his medical expenses.
Anyone who knows Cody knows he would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He is an old soul, often times referred to an old hippy born in the wrong era. He is shy. He is so mellow and laid back.  He is so shy. He is usually the quiet kid in the corner just taking it all in. Did we mention he’s shy?! His heart is so big and he is always the first to help someone in need. He loves his family both in Oregon and Florida with no end.

If you have any information as to what led up to this tragedy please come forward.
