Sam Adams Steps Down From Director Of Strategic Innovations

(Portland, OR) — Former Portland Mayor Sam Adams is stepping down from his role as Mayor Ted Wheeler’s Director of Strategic Innovations in order to focus on his health. Adams announced his resignation in a letter yesterday. In the letter, Adams says he “experiences deep fatigue on too many work days” and is often “wiped out” when he gets home from work each day. Adams has served in the role for nearly two years. Wheeler praised Adams for his “strong vision for Portland,” saying he has helped lead the city in a new direction.
