Salem Police Officer Wounded In Shooting

SALEM, Ore. — A shooting early Friday morning near Mission Street and 17th Street Southeast wounded a Salem Police officer. The officer, who is not yet being identified, was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive.
The suspect or suspects who shot the officer fled the scene.
Traffic is shut down in the area as police investigate.
