Rough Rescue For Emergency Responders On Santiam River

LINN COUNTY, Ore. – It was a rough rescue along the Santiam River on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency responders rushed to Niagara Park after receiving a report that 5 people had become stranded in the river without life jackets.

Rescue crews were able to reach the group, but while getting there, their raft overturned, stranding the rescuers with the group.

The Oregon Army National Guard was called in and used a helicopter to take everyone to dry land.

No one was seriously hurt.
