Portland, Or. – An 18 year old woman is fighting for her life after a late night stabbing at NE 78th and Klickitat. KGW reports she was walking home from a friend’s house just before midnight last weekend. The girl’s mother tells KGW her daughter saw a shadow, turned around and was attacked. She was rushed to the hospital with life threatening injuries and has received a dozen pints of blood. Her mother thinks  she’ll be  hospitalized at least for a week.

It’s believed to be a stranger to stranger attack. Police say they have no suspect description and are asking neighbors to check their home security cameras to see if they provide any clues about the attacker.

David Veley’s roommate heard the screams for help and tells KGW they rushed outside and saw her slumped on the sidewalk. He says “there was so much blood, it was running down the driveway and it was running down the street like its raining. I’ve never seen that much blood in my life.”
