Reynolds School District Gets New All Electric Bus Through PGE Grant

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Reynolds School District won a competitive grant process to help acquire a brand new, all electric school bus for their fleet.  The bus is already in use.

Portland General Electric offered the grant as part of their Oregon Clean Fuels Program.  They provided RSD with enough grant money to off-set the cost of a regular, diesel bus with enough left over to help with infrastructure in the form of a charging station.

The District estimates it will save them up to $30,000 per year in fuel and maintenance costs.  The electric bus has a 100-mile range on a 8-hour charge and all the routes in the Reynolds district are under that range.
