Neighbors in Northeast Portland have been talking online about an increase in mice and rats. So, we set out to see what’s behind this.
Columbia Pest Control confirms, the rodent population has been steadily increasing for about 5 or 6 years. Pest companies get calls year round now. Lead Tech George Woolfolk says the chicken coops are a draw and so are open compost piles. Bird feeders can also be attractive for Rodents. They like the bird seed on the ground and the fresh water in birdbaths too. Portland garbage pickup is every other week which can also contribute to the problem.
So, how do you get rid of them?
I’ve posted a couple of links to help you through it. Here’s hoping you don’t have to use it, but just in case.
