Protecting Illegal Aliens While Ignoring Local Needs?

Governments in the Northwest have been pleading poverty lately. For example, ODOT claims it doesn’t have the money to hire snow plow drivers for the coming winter. Yet, officials are promising to spend your tax dollars protecting illegal aliens from America’s immigration laws.

Lame-duck Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum promises to use lawyers in her office to hold ICE enforcement at bay, announcing that illegals have “a right to live and work” in Oregon. It seems Ellen’s not familiar with America’s immigration laws. A Portland Public Schools internal memo I obtained shows the cash-strapped district plans to use its full resources—teachers, staff, and lawyers—to confront federal law enforcement should they come.

Just over a month ago, Americans chose a new President who promised to deport more illegals than at any other time in history, with polls showing a solid majority of registered voters supporting Donald Trump’s calls for mass deportation.

Here’s the bad news for the Northwest: the Center for Immigration Studies found that more than half of the 16 million illegals allowed in by “open borders” Joe Biden have taken refuge in sanctuary states like Oregon and Washington. When President Trump takes office, expect a flood of illegals from red states to sanctuaries. When that happens, crime will climb, emergency rooms will overflow, schools will swell—and folks with a legal right to live here will pay the penalty.
