Oakridge, Or. – Power has been restored to the town of Oakridge, southeast of Eugene, after four days in the dark following Sunday’s big snow storm. Lane Electric says electricity was restored at 2 a.m. today. The town had declared a state of emergency due to lack of power and  the closure of Highway 58, the only road leading into Oakridge.

ODOT says work continues today to clear the highway of hundreds of trees that blew down across the road. It says crews will move the trees off to the side. ODOT’s Lou Torres says it will be up to the U.S. Forest Service to decide what to do with the trees, since they are on  Forest Service land.
