Portland’s Menorah Is Lit

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Menorah was lit at Pioneer Square on Thursday night to mark the beginning of 8 nights of Hannukah.

The ceremony was led by Rabbi Motti Wilhelm of Chabad of Oregon.

The 37th year of the tradition in Portland was presented exclusively online because of COVID-19 and social distancing.

Rabbi Wilhelm says: “This year, the Menorah’s message of light and hope is more important than ever.  Our goal is to increase points of light all over the world.”
