Portland Starts Off The New Year With 3 Dead In Shootings

PORTLAND, Ore. — Two men were shot and killed over New Years weekend.

21-year-old Quayan Johnell Foster and his uncle, Andre Lashun Foster, 43, died from gunshot wounds at Northeast 131st Place and Prescott Drive just before 2:00am on New Years Day.  A third person who was wounded survived.

The initial 911 caller waited close to 8 minutes to get through as police were incredibly busy on New Years Eve into New Years Day.

On Sunday morning, 39-year-old Isaiah Dewayne Hurst was found dead on North Morgan Street near Moore Avenue.

These are the first three killings of 2022 in the city following a record 90 homicides last year.
