Portland Police Bureau – A search is underway in the Hazelwood neighborhood for a suspect who may have fired a gun while being pursued by officers, prompting a callout of the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT).
On Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 5:26p.m., Portland Police officers initiated a traffic stop in the area of Northeast 92nd Avenue and Northeast Halsey Street on a wanted suspect. The suspect eluded officers in the vehicle. The vehicle’s tires were deflated with spike strips, and at least two occupants jumped out and ran. As the suspects ran, officers heard shots fired. No officer was injured. Officers have set up a perimeter and activated SERT and CNT.
At this point the perimeter includes Northeast 102nd Avenue to Northeast 108th Avenue, Northeast Halsey Street to Northeast Glisan Street.
