Portland Logs Its 21st Homicide

PORTLAND, Ore. — Police were called to a shooting in the Buckman neighborhood of Southeast Portland around 7:15 on Sunday morning and found a man dead on the sidewalk at 8th and Washington. The person who shot him was gone when officers arrived.
The man has been identified as 40-year-old Michael Fitch. This is the city’s 21st homicide of 2022.
Police closed off neighboring streets for several hours so detectives and forensics specialists could process the crime scene.
