Popeye’s Chicken and Get Out The Vote

I’m sure you’ve heard all the hoopla around the chicken sandwich at Popeye’s. It started a twitter war with Chick-Fil-A and Wendy’s. It’s so popular, folks are lining up around the block.

So this kid gets a bright idea. I like this kind of kid, he’s got chutzpah. He’s making sure all those folks are registered to vote. This is in North Carolina and he’s not even old enough to vote himself. But 17-year-old David Ledbetter figures other folks should make it to the polls.

News outlets report Ledbetter registered 16 people at just one Popeye’s. He says he’s happy to find the majority of ‘chicken sandwich lovers’ waiting in the drive-thru are already registered.
