PGE Cuts Power To Mt.Hood

Portland General Electric said it was cutting power Monday to about 5,000 customers near Mount Hood due to fire risk.

PGE said the The outage is expected to last up to two days and affect communities from Alder Creek to Government Camp.

The preemptive move is an effort to keep from downed power lines from igniting more fires.

In all nearly 40 thousand more lost power in the Portland metro area as winds caused havoc.
