Person Dies In Hit & Run On I-5 Monday Night

PORTLAND, Ore. — A man died after being hit by a car on Interstate 5 southbound just south of the Interstate Bridge on Monday night.  The driver took off from the scene.

There’s no word why the man was on the freeway when he was hit just after 8:15pm.  He has been identified as 26-year-old Liam Ollila.

The southbound lanes were closed at SR-14 in Vancouver for about three hours.

This is the 10th traffic fatality in the city of Portland this year and the 6th involving a pedestrian.
